As the days passed, I found myself checking the forum regularly. One message caught my eye: « I work at the supermarket and might be able to help, » it read. I responded, arranging to meet the sender, « Alex, » at a nearby café. I arrived early, scanning the room for anyone who might be there for the same reason.
A few minutes later, a young man approached my table. « Are you the one from the forum? » he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. I nodded, gesturing for him to sit. « I’ve seen the list too, » he admitted, glancing around nervously. « It’s not supposed to be out there, but mistakes happen. We’re under pressure to keep track of customer preferences and habits. »
« What do you mean? » I asked, leaning in closer. « It’s about targeted marketing, » Alex explained. « They want to tailor ads and promotions, but it’s getting out of hand. I’m worried they’re crossing lines. » His words confirmed my fears, but also presented new possibilities. Could this be the leverage I needed?
