Donald Trump’s golf club watch party has been caught on camera showing Bad Bunny’s halftime show despite the president being ‘anti’ watching it.
Yesterday (February 8), the 2026 Super Bowl LX kicked off at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California with none other than Bad Bunny taking the reigns of the halftime show.
The Puerto Rican musician – real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio – made history as the first male solo Latin artist to perform at the NFL’s halftime show. However, prior to the performance Donald Trump resolved he wouldn’t be attending as was ‘anti’ NFL performers Bad Bunny and Green Day too.

Last week, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt even told reporters: « I think the president would much prefer a Kid Rock performance over Bad Bunny. »
Alas, perhaps the man doth protest too much, because however much Trump slammed the show, he did actually tune it to watch it a video since shared online of it playing in the background of his golf club screening party at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Sharing footage allegedly taken inside Trump’s golf club, an X user revealed the screen with no Kid Rock on the screen, but – shock horror – Bad Bunny instead.
The caption reads: « Footage from inside Trump’s golf club Super Bowl party reveals the Bad Bunny half time show played on the big screens. What a bunch of hypocrites. »
And who should be able to be spotted in the video but Trump himself chatting away with Senator Lindsey Graham as others watch on.
Granted, Trump may not have paid much attention to the screen, but, having it playing at his golf club certainly helped boost its viewing numbers.
And Trump’s rant on Truth Social following the show proves he definitely did pay some sort of attention to what was going on too.
The POTUS branded Bad Bunny’s show – which was performed in Spanish – as ‘absolutely terrible’ if not, ‘one of the worst EVER’, adding: « Nobody understands a word this guy is saying. »
The president of the United States slammed the show as making ‘no sense’ and being ‘an affront to the Greatness of America’ not representing ‘standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence’.
Whether Kid Rock’s alternate halftime show could be considered as meeting such standards, well, we’ll leave that up to you to decide.
The president could’ve also tuned into Turning Point USA’s alternate halftime show too. After all, Rock is pro-Trump.
But perhaps the POTUS simply wasn’t in the mood to see Kid Rock’s ’embarrassing’ performance – if you could call it that given the singer has been accused of lip-syncing.
Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show was already groundbreaking before it had even begun, as the first-ever Spanish language music set to grace the biggest date in the NFL season.
The symbolism of the moment was clearly not lost on Bad Bunny, real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, who packed his roughly 15-minute set with Latin American cultural and artistic references, as well as a few pointed messages.
Bringing the sugarcane fields of Puerto Rico to San Francisco’s Levi’s Stadium, Ocasio dressed all in white as he belted out his biggest tracks and wheeled past famous faces like Cardi B and Pedro Pascal, even featuring Lady Gaga in a surprising guest spot.
But it was one of the smaller moments that many will have missed that some found to be the most poignant of the night. While tearing through the fields surrounded by pulsating dancers, the rapper briefly bent down to a small boy.
This young boy, who was stood in front of a TV, was then handed a Grammy by Bad Bunny.
But while this could be read as an exploration of how his success, winning six of these awards, encourages the younger generations, many thought it was a more direct political statement.
« The little boy, Bad Bunny, gave the Grammy to resemble Liam Ramos. Wouldn’t be surprised is it was intentional, » one X user argued.
Liam Ramos is the little five-year-old boy who was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers with his father in January, while walking to his home from school in Columbia Heights, Minnesota.
With the rest of the set signaling Bad Bunny’s solidarity with his fellow Spanish speakers amid a year of hardline immigration crackdowns, another user concurred: « Pretty sure Bad Bunny gave one of his Grammys to Liam Ramos, well done sir! What an AMAZING SHOW!!! Love over hate, always. »
Yet while many wondered if the boy was Liam, child actor Lincoln Fox confirmed on Instagram that he had been playing Bad Bunny’s younger self. He said: « I’ll remember this day forever! @badbunnypr – it was my truest honor. »
But while many were struck by this touching moment, it was one of a number of somewhat subtle messages littering Bad Bunny’s performance.
In one, the global music icon presented a football to the camera as he left the sugarcane field, with the ball simply reading: « Together we are America. »
Meanwhile, as fireworks lit-up the stadium ahead of the second half in the struggle between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks, a billboard above the crowd stated ‘the only thing more powerful than hate is love’.
This echoed the sentiments Bad Bunny expressed while accepting a Grammy last week, where he said: « We are not savage. We are not animals, we are not aliens, we are humans, and we are Americans. »He added: « The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love. »
Despite this message about love, President Trump did not hold back on sharing his thoughts.
The world leader slammed the performance as ‘disgusting’ and called it an ‘an affront to the Greatness of America’.
The president of a country with 40 million Spanish speakers claimed that ‘nobody understands a word this guy is saying’.
President Donald Trump has viciously attacked Bad Bunny’s halftime show at Super Bowl LX, slamming it as ‘one of the worst ever’.
Rapper Bad Bunny, real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, stunned the crowd at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday (February 8), with a groundbreaking Spanish-language performance that saw him wheeling through a field of sugarcane as he belted some of his biggest songs.
Bad Bunny’s fast-paced music may have been hard to follow for some unfamiliar with Spanish or his particular style of Latin trap, wowing many fans in the stadium but leaving some furious after they couldn’t understand a word.
Trump appeared to be in the latter group, unloading on the Puerto Rican singer who has won six Grammys and been the most-streamed artist of the year on Spotify four times. But despite these accolades, the president thought his set was ‘disgusting’.Taking to Truth Social, the POTUS wrote: « The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence.
« Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.
« This ‘Show’ is just a ‘slap in the face’ to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day — including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History!
« There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD
« And, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP. »
Trump was not in attendance at this year’s Super Bowl, after previously claiming that it was ‘too far’ for him to travel.Speaking to the New York Post before the biggest game in the NFL calendar, the president made it clear that he did not like the politics of the artists playing at the Super Bowl, which included the vocally anti-ICE and anti-MAGA Green Day.
Having previously claimed he’d ‘never heard’ of Bad Bunny, Trump said: « I’m anti-them. I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible. »
So perhaps it is unsurprising that Trump was not moved by the Puerto Rican singer’s performance in a language spoken by over 40 million Americans and 600 million people around the world.
But some of the less subtle messaging in the Latin-infused halftime show likely enraged the president further, with a billboard pointedly reading ‘the only thing more powerful than hate is love’ as the set came to close.
The final shot of the historic halftime performance was Bad Bunny gripping a football while surrounded by Latin American performers. The ball simply read: « Together we are America. »
Bad Bunny has hinted at some details about his highly anticipated Super Bowl halftime show this weekend.
The Puerto Rican rapper will take to the stage at the Apple Music Super Bowl LX halftime show as the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks go head-to-head at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday (February 8).
The announcement that Bad Bunny would be performing has been controversial at best, leading Turning Point USA to create its own alternative halftime show, featuring the likes of Kid Rock and Gabby Barrett.
In the run-up to the Super Bowl, Bad Bunny has been talking more and more about the event. During an appearance at the pregame press conference with Apple Music on February 5, he shared some information about what fans can expect to experience. When hosts Ebro Darden and Zane Lowe asked if he’s going to have anyone up on stage with him, the 31-year-old star replied: “You know that’s something I’m not going to tell you. I don’t know why you ask that.”
However, as far as what viewers can expect, according to Bad Bunny, it’ll be a ‘huge party’.
“I just want to have fun, it’s going to be a huge party … I don’t want to give spoilers, people only need to worry about dancing,” he explained. “They don’t even have to learn Spanish, it’s better if they dance but there’s no better dance that comes from the heart. … Of course, choose your team at the game.”
Bad Bunny went on to share that the aftermath of the Grammys, where he took home three awards, has ‘been a lot’.
He added: “Of course, there is a lot of gratitude. It’s how I’ve been feeling this whole year with the album. The biggest feeling is being grateful. I am taking things one day at a time and just living.”
The rapper went on to say he’s ‘going to have fun’ with ‘the crew, the people’ at the Super Bowl.
“That’s what I’m trying to focus on. Enjoy the moment, what is happening,” Bad Bunny said.
But while he’s stoked and so are many people online, there has been some backlash.“A lot of the MAGA folks apparently are very upset with the NFL. But they’re upset all the time,” Whoopi Goldberg said on The View in September 2025.
She added: “Another great American performer is going to be performing. I don’t see the problem. Because y’all do remember Puerto Rico is part of the United States.”
Even the president of the United States hopped on the train when the news broke that Bad Bunny, who usually performs in Spanish, would be headlining the halftime show.
“I’ve never heard of him,” Donald Trump said in an interview with Newsmax in October 2025. “I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s, like, crazy.”
Bad Bunny is actually very well known on the music scene right now and was one of the most-played artists on Spotify last year, racking up a whopping 19.8 billion streams.

Turning Point USA has released its performance plan for its alternative Super Bowl halftime show – and it has fallen flat with a lot of people.
The show was created to give viewers an alternative to Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl 60 event on Sunday, (February 8).
It’s being organized by the late Charlie Kirk’s political establishment, Turning Point USA, currently headed by is widow, Erika who has taken over position as its CEO.
As announced on its website, the All American Halftime Show will include performances from the likes of Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett – but people haven’t taken the news well.
On social media, people have aired their thoughts on the line-up, having previously begged for long-time conservative country singer, Jason Aldean, to participate.Unfortunately for them, he’s not been pegged as a performer.
“Anyone else disappointed? Honestly your marketing team could have did a better job on this flyer and advertising this event,” one person wrote on X.
A second penned: “I’ll be watching but I am a little disappointed in this lineup. Going to struggle getting Gen Z to care.”
“I knew it would be Kid Rock and 3 people I’ve never heard of,” another wrote, as someone else complained: “Y’all remember that TPUSA Halftime show they announced and everyone was like ‘Get Creed’ and ‘I hope they don’t get someone like Kid Rock’. They got Kid Rock….”
However, some were pretty stoked at the prospect of seeing the singers on stage.
One person wrote: “This is going to be massive! Is everyone tuning in?”
Another said: “Can’t wait to see Kid Rock & the crew rock the halftime stage! Who’s your top pick?”As you can expect from this particular crown, there has been some criticism about Bad Bunny potentially performing in Spanish, as he usually does, to an American crowd.
“I’ve never heard of him,” Donald Trump chimed in during an interview with Newsmax in October 2025. “I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s, like, crazy.”
Bad Bunny had a massive historic win at the 2026 Grammys, having took home the Album of the Year on February 1, and has been vocal about sticking to his roots when singing.
During his Saturday Night Live hosting opportunity in October 2025, he hilariously told the audience that they had ‘four months to learn’ Spanish in preparation for his show.
TPUSA’s show will livestream on Turning Point USA’s official social media channels, and also on outlets like The Daily Wire and Trinity Broadcasting Network.
