Ray J performs with ‘blood’ streaming down from eyes after being given months to live
The music star told fans ‘2027 is definitely a wrap’ for him
Weeks after announcing that he ‘doesn’t have long left to live’, Ray J put on a worrying performance in front of fans in the US.
The crowd at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium in Louisiana were left concerned for the music star after seeing what appeared to be blood pouring from one of his eyes.
Footage shared to social media shows something resembling a crimson tear trickling down the ‘One Wish’ singer’s face as he handed out roses to members of the audience at the gig on Saturday (14 February).

R&B icons such as Bobby Valentino, Kelly Price and Sunshine Anderson also took to the stage for the ‘Intimate Valentine’s Day Concert’.
But it’s Ray J’s set which has become a prominent topic of conversation online, due to the 45-year-old’s recent admissions about his health.
In early January, the Mississippi-born star revealed that he ‘almost died’ after battling a severe case of pneumonia, while explaining doctors had told him that his heart is ‘only beating 25 percent’.
He went as far as to say that ‘2027 is definitely a wrap’ for him, before claiming that medics told him his heart was ‘black’.
He added: « I thought I was so big so I could handle all the alcohol, I could handle all the Adderall, the drugs, I can handle everything – but I couldn’t. It curved my time. »
While on stage on Saturday, a red liquid was seen rolling out from behind Ray J’s sunglasses and down his face as he handed out red roses to fans.
Despite it looking like he was dealing with some sort of painful eye problem, he was seen smiling and he even hopped into the crowd.
As a fan filmed close to his face, his eyes did not appear to be gushing blood, although further footage does appear to show two dark patches beneath each of them.
The source of the blood-like substance is currently unknown.
One social media user wrote: « This looks wild af…but blood from the eyes during a performance with a heart monitor? Either it’s some next-level stage makeup/effects or he’s in serious trouble. Praying it’s the first one and he gets the help he needs. Heart at 25% ain’t no joke. »
The medical term for crying blood is hemolacria, which is a very rare condition. According to VeryWellHealth, it can have several causes:
He is reportedly taking drugs such as the cholesterol medication Lipitor, as well as Jardiance and Entresto, which are both often given to those at high risk of heart failure.
The musician, who famously made a sex tape with Kim Kardashian, also added that he had been told to prepare for the possibility of being fitted with a pacemaker or defibrillator.
However, in a video obtained by E! News on 30 January, Ray J said he felt ‘great’, while his manager said his doctor ‘did miracles’.
« My baby mama gonna be straight, my kids gonna be straight, if they wanna spend all the money, they can spend it. I did my part here, » the father-of-two added.
« And damn, when it’s all done, burn me, don’t bury me. »
According to the NHS, pneumonia is ‘inflammation of the lungs’ and is ‘usually caused by an infection’.
« Most people get better in two to four weeks, but babies, older people, and people with heart or lung conditions are at risk of getting seriously ill and may need treatment in hospital, » it added.
« For US seniors, hospitalisation for pneumonia has a greater risk of death compared to any of the other top 10 reasons for hospitalisation, » the society wrote.
