Hey, at least someone thought he did ‘a great job’ of it if he did
Kid Rock’s Turning Point USA alternate Super Bowl halftime show has been reviewed as ‘sad’ after viewers accused him of pre-recording his vocals.
Yesterday (February 8), Bad Bunny headlined the 2026 Super Bowl halftime performance at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
The Puerto Rican musician – real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio – made NFL history as the first male solo Latin artist to perform at the halftime show.
Trump shares his ‘pick’ for the Super Bowl
Alas, Bad Bunny’s performance didn’t sit too well with Donald Trump or Charlie Kirk’s organization Turning Point USA. So much so that the group even decided to create an alternate halftime show altogether.
Starring Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett, the Turning Point USA halftime show was streamed on YouTube.
And while Erika Kirk, the new CEO of Turning Point and wife of the late Charlie Kirk, thought the show was ‘incredible,’ other viewers weren’t quite as impressed – particularly by Kid Rock, who many accused of lip-syncing.Kid Rock – real name Robert Ritchie – took to the stage at the alternate halftime show event to perform just two songs: 1999 release ‘Bawitdaba’ alongside a cover of Cody Johnson’s ‘Til You Can’t’.
Alas, some viewers believed they spotted Kid Rock’s mouth not moving in time to the words they were listening to.

And you best believe they wasted little time taking to X to say so.
One X user said: « It sure looked like Kid Rock relied on pre-recorded track for his ‘All-American Halftime Performance.' »
« I zoomed in and centered Kid Rock’s TPUSA alternative halftime performance so you can see what a great job he did lip synching, » another added.A third even went so far to write: « That was the worst lip sync I’ve ever seen. Wow that was sad. »
« The fact the whole Bad Bunny performance was powerful,…Kid Rock can’t even lip synch to his own song, » a fourth added.
And a fifth resolved: « The *American* halftime show had a real wedding. The couple invited Bad Bunny to their wedding, and instead he invited them to get married on stage during his performance and that is their actual celebration.
« Meanwhile the TPUSA show had Kid Rock doing bad lip sync. Such an insane contrast. A wholesome display of love and unity and family versus a bunch of bitter people angry that the rest of the country isn’t as hateful as they are. »
Turning Point USA has released its performance plan for its alternative Super Bowl halftime show – and it has fallen flat with a lot of people.
The show was created to give viewers an alternative to Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl 60 event on Sunday, (February 8).
It’s being organized by the late Charlie Kirk’s political establishment, Turning Point USA, currently headed by is widow, Erika who has taken over position as its CEO.
As announced on its website, the All American Halftime Show will include performances from the likes of Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett – but people haven’t taken the news well.
On social media, people have aired their thoughts on the line-up, having previously begged for long-time conservative country singer, Jason Aldean, to participate.Unfortunately for them, he’s not been pegged as a performer.
“Anyone else disappointed? Honestly your marketing team could have did a better job on this flyer and advertising this event,” one person wrote on X.
A second penned: “I’ll be watching but I am a little disappointed in this lineup. Going to struggle getting Gen Z to care.”
“I knew it would be Kid Rock and 3 people I’ve never heard of,” another wrote, as someone else complained: “Y’all remember that TPUSA Halftime show they announced and everyone was like ‘Get Creed’ and ‘I hope they don’t get someone like Kid Rock’. They got Kid Rock….”
However, some were pretty stoked at the prospect of seeing the singers on stage.
One person wrote: “This is going to be massive! Is everyone tuning in?”
Another said: “Can’t wait to see Kid Rock & the crew rock the halftime stage! Who’s your top pick?”As you can expect from this particular crown, there has been some criticism about Bad Bunny potentially performing in Spanish, as he usually does, to an American crowd.
“I’ve never heard of him,” Donald Trump chimed in during an interview with Newsmax in October 2025. “I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s, like, crazy.”
Bad Bunny had a massive historic win at the 2026 Grammys, having took home the Album of the Year on February 1, and has been vocal about sticking to his roots when singing.
During his Saturday Night Live hosting opportunity in October 2025, he hilariously told the audience that they had ‘four months to learn’ Spanish in preparation for his show.
TPUSA’s show will livestream on Turning Point USA’s official social media channels, and also on outlets like The Daily Wire and Trinity Broadcasting Network.
Bad Bunny made history with his Super Bowl halftime show and fans were delighted after learning the true meaning behind a wedding moment during his performance.
While the majority of people were interested in Super Bowl LX for the clash between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks, others were hyped for another reason; rapper Bad Bunny.
The Puerto Rican rapper made history by being the first Spanish-language performer to solo headline the performance.
Bad Bunny, real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, packed his 15 minute set with Latin American cultural and artistic references, something that resonated with viewers.
One moment in particular was a brief moment where a couple appeared to get married on one of the biggest stages of America.Following the performance, many people were both surprised and delighted to learn that the unnamed couple that tied the knot weren’t actors but rather a real couple.
Bad Bunny’s representatives said that the couple seen in a white tuxedo and wedding gown actually did get married.
The couple had sent a wedding invitation to the Puerto Rican rapper and received an invitation to the halftime show instead.
Bunny even signed the marriage certificate and a wedding cake was provided as well, with a release from the artist saying that they ‘turned the moment into a joyful celebration unfolding in real time’, according to NBC news.
On social media, some people claimed they had a feeling the moment was real based on the couple’s behavior.
On Reddit, one user wrote: “So THAT’s why the couple cutting the cake looked so genuinely and sincerely thrilled.”
Another added: “I wish I could understand the words, but I got some of it from the context. I was hoping it was a real marriage, but assumed it was just an act.”
A third added: “They looked so genuinely happy and in love me and my friends decided it must be real, happy to have it confirmed. Whole thing was so joyous.”
While another commented: “Imagine getting married at the super bowl during Bad Bunny’s halftime show and your (admittedly short) reception guests include Lady Gaga and Bad Bunny.”
It is not clear whether some of the people in the background of the wedding were friends and family members or just backup dancers and actors for the performance itself, however.
To top off the performance there were also plenty of celebrity cameos including Cardi B, Jessica Alba, Karol G, Young Miko and Pedro Pascal.
