Both Fatemeh and the attacker died in the savage assault at Wandsbek Markt subway station shortly after 10pm on Thursday.

Loved ones have paid their respects on social media, with family and friends posting images of the late Iranian teen.

Her mum posted on Instagram alongside a picture of Fatemah holding flowers: “My daughter is an angel.”

She also said in another emotional post: “Oh pretty girl.”

One tribute announced a vigil, saying: “Tomorrow, Sunday, we will meet at 2:30 pm in front of the main entrance of the Wandsbek Markt subway station, light candles and remember our dear Asal.”

It has since emerged the South Sudanese attacker, had a violent history and was already on the radar of German authorities.

According to Bild, the migrant had been arrested just days before the fatal ordeal after allegedly attacking police officers.
He was reportedly cuffed over aggravated assault but later released despite investigations being underway.

The outlet also reported the suspect had a history of aggressive and violent offences.

Cops said there is no indication the pair were known to each other.

Authorities confirmed the man entered Germany in mid-2024 through a humanitarian reception programme.

He reportedly held a valid residence permit and was living in a container-style accommodation in Hamburg.

Bild reported that footprints were visible on the door of his unit.

Witnesses said the attacker had been acting erratically moments before the killing.
One bystander told an outlet the man stumbled toward the teen and said: “I’ll take you with me.”

He is then said to have pulled her onto the tracks without warning just seconds later.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Fatemah was reportedly living in a women’s shelter in Norderstedt, according to the European Conservative.

She had reportedly fled domestic violence.

Following the attack, the German Red Cross crisis intervention team was sent to the scene to provide psychological support to witnesses.

The station remained cordoned off overnight as police worked at the site.
