Said the Car Was Mine—They Cuffed Me Anyway, Then Paid the Price

I turned into my driveway a few minutes after 7:10 that evening.

The garage door had barely begun rolling upward when flashing red and blue lights suddenly washed across the side of my house.

At first, I barely reacted.

I assumed the patrol vehicle was simply driving past.

Then I heard tires bite into the pavement.
