Then I saw the venue’s name on the screen, and something in my stomach went tight.
“Your reception was canceled yesterday,” the manager said.
I actually laughed. “What do you mean? We’ll be there right after the ceremony.”

I stood up so fast my makeup artist stepped back. “Who canceled it?”
He hesitated just long enough for me to know the answer was going to hurt.
