The next day, I decided to meet with the property manager in person. I arrived at their office, a nondescript building with a sterile lobby. The receptionist greeted me with a polite smile, asking me to take a seat while she informed the manager of my arrival. My mind raced as I waited, rehearsing what I would say. When I was finally ushered into the manager’s office, I was met with a firm handshake and a neutral expression. « I’ve reviewed your case, » the manager began, his tone diplomatic. « Unfortunately, all procedures were followed correctly on our end. » I presented my case, explaining the missed emails and my willingness to rectify the situation. He listened intently, nodding occasionally, but his expression remained unchanged. « I’ll see what I can do, » he said finally, his voice noncommittal. « But I can’t make any promises. » I left the office with a glimmer of hope, but the uncertainty still loomed large.
