“That’s not what this is.”
Caleb glanced at the riders. “Then what is it?”
The oldest biker stepped forward. His gray beard showed beneath a black helmet, and unlike the others, he wasn’t smiling.
“It’s what happens when one of ours gets saved.”
Caleb frowned. “I’m not one of yours.”
Bear answered immediately.
“You were when you put your body over mine.”
For the first time since the motorcycles arrived, Caleb’s fear loosened.
But Bear wasn’t finished.
He looked toward the industrial road behind Caleb.
