The Boy I Judged — And the Lesson That Saved Me

Caleb. Same hoodie. Broken umbrella. Standing there like he’d materialized from the storm.

“Carburetor’s flooded, isn’t it?” he asked gently.

I almost laughed. “You wouldn’t know a carburetor from a keyboard.”

He smiled — not offended. Just patient.
“Throttle to the floor. Crank six seconds.”

I did.
