“Tell your daughter to stop crying — she’s ruining Easter f0r the good kids,” sister screamed after her twins they dirtied my 6-year-0ld daughter’s dress with mud from head to toe.

“Tell your daughter to stop crying. She’s ruining Easter for the good kids.”

My sister Tessa said those words while my six-year-old daughter stood three feet away, covered in mud and trying not to sob.

Lucy’s yellow Easter dress was soaked with dirt. One shoe was missing. Mud clung to her tights and the ends of her blonde hair.
