Callum shut his eyes. “Janet, don’t.”
“No, Callum. You’ve had a month.” She turned slightly so he could see her mouth clearly as she spoke — a small movement I noticed but didn’t yet understand.
“Callum,” I said. “Look at me. Are those yours?”
His chin dropped in a silent yes.

“What do you mean they’re yours?”
