His Side of the Story
My husband, on the other hand, sees it differently. He loves the natural wood grain — says painting it would “ruin the beauty.” He’s all about the classic, unpainted look — and I get it. There’s something timeless about raw wood that’s been cared for and polished.
To him, painting over it is like hiding its history.
So here we are — one dresser, two visions, and a can of red paint waiting patiently in the garage.
The Compromise (Maybe…)
Here’s what I’m thinking:
Paint just the inside shelves or the back panel red for a subtle pop of color.
Or maybe go bold on the drawer fronts and leave the frame wood-stained.
Or… I might just “test” a small section while he’s at work (kidding! …mostly).
Because sometimes, the best home projects come from a little creative debate.
