Josh folded his hands. “We had Theo evaluated.”
Her face changed. “For what?”
I stopped pretending to load the dishwasher.
“He’s autistic,” Josh said.
Carol stared at him. No one spoke for several seconds.
“Autistic?”
“Yes.”
“When did you find this out?”
“Eleven days ago.”
