She assumed Daniel paid for everything.

Now she hovered over my bed.

“You can barely sit up. How are you supposed to raise twins?”

“Get out.”

Melissa moved toward Lily’s bassinet.

“We’re family.”

I pressed the nurse-call button.

Patricia grabbed my wrist.

“No nurses. Sign first.”

I stared at her hand gripping me.
