“What is it?”

“Temporary guardianship. Eventually adoption.” Her voice was casual.

“Melissa can’t have children. You have two. Stop being selfish.”

Melissa gave me a thin smile.

“I’ve already chosen the name Claire.”

My arms tightened around Noah.

“You named my daughter?”
