I drove for three hours to pick up my 19-year-old daughter after her summer job… But when she walked out of the building holding a newborn baby in her arms, I froze. I asked her, “Whose baby is this?” She held the little girl even tighter and whispered, “Mom… please, just listen to me first.”

At first, I smiled.

Then I saw what she was holding in her arms.

A baby.

A newborn.

I practically jumped out of the car.

“Megan… whose baby is this?”

She looked at me and simply said:

“Mom, please don’t get angry.”

A diaper bag was hanging from her shoulder.

And the way she held the baby was so natural, so confident, that it looked like she had been taking care of her for weeks.
