Why Bleach Marks Can Be White, Orange, Pink, Yellow, or Red
Bleach does not always transform a colored garment directly into pure white.
Fabric colors are frequently created from combinations of dyes. Those components may not react with bleach at exactly the same rate.
As one part of the color disappears before another, intermediate shades can become visible.
A black garment, for example, might develop reddish, orange, tan, or pale spots rather than clean white ones.
Dark blue, green, brown, and other colors can produce similarly unexpected results.
Can a Bleach Stain Really Be Washed Out?
If the bleach has already removed the fabric dye, ordinary washing cannot restore the original pigment.

Some techniques described online as methods for “removing bleach stains” are actually attempts to stop remaining bleach from causing additional damage. Others redistribute surrounding dye or cover the discolored area.
