“He’s wet.”
Gareth sighed and carried him toward the changing table.
Ten minutes later, I found him standing over Amos with an open diaper in one hand.
“He keeps moving.”
“He’s a newborn, Gareth.”
“I’m scared I’m going to hurt him.”
“So am I. But someone still has to care for him.”
That first night was difficult, but I believed we would learn together.
By the third night, Gareth carried his pillow into the guest room.
“I have an important presentation tomorrow,” he said.
