6. Add Optional Chocolate Chips
If using sugar-free chocolate chips or espresso powder, gently fold them into the batter.
For a stronger chocolate flavor, espresso powder is an excellent addition because it enhances cocoa without making the cake taste strongly like coffee.
7. Fill the Pan
Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Do not fill the pan excessively; leave room for the loaf to rise.
8. Air Fry
Place the loaf pan into the preheated air fryer.
Cook at 320°F (160°C) for 28–35 minutes.
Because air fryers vary considerably, begin checking around the 28-minute mark.
9. Check for Doneness
Insert a toothpick into the center.
It should come out with a few moist crumbs but no wet batter. The top should look set, slightly glossy, and gently cracked.
If the top is browning too quickly while the center remains wet, loosely cover the loaf with foil and continue cooking for another 3–5 minutes.
