Then I noticed something unusual tucked behind an old wooden cabinet.
At first glance, it looked like a strange piece of metal with an attached chain. It was surprisingly heavy for its size, covered in tarnish, and had decorative engravings that suggested it wasn’t just an ordinary household tool.
Curiosity got the better of me.
When I picked it up, I realized it could open like a small case. Inside were several compartments—two perfectly round circular holders on one side, a larger compartment lined with reflective metal, and a tiny hinged section that folded neatly into place.
I had absolutely no idea what I was holding.
