A man who was released from prison early after violently raping multiple boys as young as three has been recalled after breaching his licence conditions

In 2017, Robert McGregor was sentenced to 10 years after he filmed himself raping and abusing children and uploading the videos to the internet for others to view

In May this year, McGregor was released to various Highland towns, but was repeatedly moved after locals found he was living there.

On Friday, McGregor was arrested in Nairn for breaching his licence conditions and was returned to custody to finish his original sentence.

Police identified three children Robert McGregor raped from among child indecent images that officers found during a search of his home in Inverness.

The identified victims were boys aged three, six and 12.

In one vile video, McGregor made a recording of a three-year-old with his nappy undone as he raped the vulnerable little boy who had no speech.

In other video footage McGregor was seen raping one distressed boy who was saying « no » and « don’t » as he was preyed on by the paedophile.

He also recorded footage of a third victim almost being physically sick after he perpetrated a sex act on the boy whom he subjected to years of abuse.

In 2017, the sentencing judge, Lady Carmichael said she was not satisfied that the risk criteria were met for imposing a life sentence on McGregor under an Order for Lifelong Restriction.

Lady Carmichael also told McGregor that she would have jailed him for 15 years but for his early guilty pleas.

Instead, she sentenced him to just ten years.
